Mapledurham House: Mapledurham House is a large manor house that stands proudly at the heart of
Mapledurham Estate on the banks of the River Thames. Steeped in history the origins
of the house can be traced back to before the Doomsday book.
In today's modern society Mapledurham House is open to visitors. Not only is the
house interesting for those wanting to learn more about its history, but also the grounds
are an ideal location for clay pigeon shooting, archery, quad biking, and horse
riding. Visitors can enjoy cream tea in the Old Manor Tea Room, visit the last
working watermill on the River Thames within the estate and view the large collections
of paintings and furniture in the main house.
